    Hi there,

I was comparing SoSimple Calendar to Zulu calendar in terms of editing our calendar events from other devices & calendar apps.

Zulu says that they will allow us to turn our FileMaker Server into a CalDAV server… so we can then edit all of our calendar events from ANY calendar client: iOS Calendar app, BusyCal for macOS, etc.

SoSimple Calendar says that we can only SUBSCRIBE to our calendar events in a READ-ONLY fashion… but we cannot edit any of our calendar events from any other calendar client. In other words, we can only edit our SoSimple calendar events from within FileMaker.

Am I understanding this correctly? And if so, will there be a future update where we will be able to edit our SoSimple calendar events from other calendar apps?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Hi Scott.

    Great to see you here.

You are correct: soSIMPLE can publish a readonly iCal feed to your FileMaker calendar. Great for letting your team know where they have to be on their own devices and other calendars. And soSIMPLE can subscribe to a readonly feed originating from these “other” calendars.

At this time, we have no plans to support two-way sync with Google.

To edit calendars, you can publish your soSIMPLE Calendar to a web page, or a web app. It will then behave a lot like your built-in calendar on your phone or browser.

    Thanks
